HAMILTON PARK review By Gordon Brown

Kalpana, trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by P J McDibald was an impressive winner of the British Stallion Studs EBF Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton Park. Carrying the colours of Juddmonte, the 5/6 favourite slammed God’s Window by four and a half lengths in the £50,000 Listed contest.

“She got a little unbalanced coming down the hill but her main attribute is that she really wants to win,” McDonald. “I didn’t realise until I stood against her what a big filly she is and she’s galloped right to the line. She’s got a lovely attitude and I’m sure she’ll have a bright future wherever she goes next.”

Jordan Electrics smashed his own track record with a blistering front-running performance in the G4 Claims Not At Fault Claims Made Easy Scottish Stewards’ Cup Handicap. The eight-year-old also joins Economic Crisis, Hopes N Dreams and Diet as a eight-time winner at the Lanarkshire venue.

Ridden by Paul Mulrennan and trained by Jim Goldie, the 5/1 co-favourite saw off Silkie Wilkie by half a length.

“He’s a legend and he loves that hill here,” said Goldie. “He’s had an unbelievable season already and we’re looking at coming back here for the Soba Handicap on August 3.”
