MUSSELBURGH review

By Gordon Brown

Joe Fanning had an eventful afternoon at Musselburgh on Tuesday when he rode a treble that included a dead-heat.

Judge Di Clark couldn’t separate his mount Peripeteia and National Question in the classified stakes before the veteran later scored on Union Island and Achnamara.

Hawick-born Rhys Elliott, the jockey aboard National Question, was also involved in a dead-heat at Hamilton Park last Thursday.

Music History, trained by Ed Bethell, produced one of the most impressive efforts of the day when making a winning handicap debut in the Join Racing TV Now Nursery.

“She’s starting to get the hang of it and that was great,” said winning jockey Callum Rodriguez. “It was pretty straightforward as she broke well and then showed nice attitude to quicken away.”

Rory, trained and bred by Jim Goldie and ridden by Paul Mulrennan, landed the concluding handicap to record his first win over seven-furlongs.
