FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY AT CATTERICK RACES THIS SUMMER

Family days are one of the highlights of Catterick Racecourse’s fixture calendar, popular with racing fans and families alike.

With three family days to look forward to this school holidays, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Catterick Races this summer!

The holidays kick off with the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival Family Day on Wednesday 24 July.

Sponsored by Sky Bet, the summer festival celebrates all that is great about Flat racing in the White Rose County, with 9 days of thrilling racing across eight Yorkshire Racecourses.

Alongside the racing action, visitors to the Catterick leg of the festival, on Wednesday 24 July, can enjoy free children’s entertainment in the Course Enclosure, including an assault course and bouncy castle.

Ahead of the first race, due off at 2.40pm, the jockeys will be testing their football skills in the parade ring in a bid to raise funds for the charity of the week, the Matt Hampson Foundation, who are supporting Graham Lee in his recovery following his fall last year.

The second family day in the calendar is the Salute Our Heroes Family Day, in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, on Tuesday 6 August.

The afternoon is set to be full of action with six thrilling races to enjoy alongside free children’s entertainment in the Course Enclosure.

The first race on 6 August is scheduled for 2.15pm, and the last race at 5.10pm.

The card has been generously supported by Hugh James Law and Middleton St George based bookmaker, Vickers Bet.

Alongside the racing action, younger racing fans can enjoy a variety of free entertainment available in the Course Enclosure, including a Bootcamp Challenge and laser battle zone, plus bouncy castles for the younger children.

Catterick Racecourse is delighted to once again offer complimentary admission to this fixture for all military personnel and their families.

Military tickets can be collected from the Catterick Garrison Headquarters or from the Racecourse Office.

Finally, the Family Sports Day on Monday 19 August will offer the chance for younger racegoers to get involved in the first race of the day – the second annual Egg & Spoon race!

Taking place at approx. 1 hour prior to the first (horse) race, which is due off at 2.15pm.

The gates on 19 August will again be open to the public from midday, and there will be an array of free sporting activities to enjoy in the Course Enclosure in addition the racing action on the track, including a 9-hole crazy golf course, inflatable darts and penalty shoot-out!

As with all of Catterick’s fixtures, accompanied under 18’s are admitted free of charge, and a complimentary shuttle bus service will run between Richmond Market Place and the racecourse, starting one hour prior to the first race.

Tickets will be available to purchase at the gates on the day, while advanced and group booking discounts are available until 48 hours prior to each raceday, either over the phone by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478 or online at www.catterickbridge.co.uk.

Concessions for students and those aged 65 and over, and discounted military tickets are also available both in advance and at the gates on the day.
