Results of Referrals (G. Sanderson & P. Kirby) heard by the Disciplinary Panel

Gary Sanderson

On 25 and 26 March 2024 the independent Disciplinary Panel of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) sat to consider the charge of whether Mr Gary Sanderson, was in breach of Rule (J)26 (A Person must not be convicted of any criminal offence in connection with horse racing in any jurisdiction) by reason of his convictions on 7 July 2023 for 9 offences contrary to the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Philip Kirby

On 22 April 2024 the independent Disciplinary Panel of the BHA sat to consider whether licensed trainer Philip Kirby is in breach of Rule (D)22 of the Rules of Racing for failing to ensure that people riding horses in his care and control were wearing the correct safety equipment as required under the Rules. The result and written reasons can be read here. The Panel for this hearing was: Philippa Charles, Joanna Armstrong and Hannah Bradley.
